Privacy & cookies

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data is collected through chriswyle.co.uk and the Building It email list, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Chris Wyle. For any privacy question or request, email hello@chriswyle.co.uk.

The short version

The weekly email (via Kit)

When you sign up to the Building It email, you do so on a sign-up page run by Kit (kit.com, formerly ConvertKit), which acts as our data processor.

When you email us

If you email hello@chriswyle.co.uk, we use your name, email address and anything you include to reply to you and handle your enquiry. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (or taking steps towards an agreement you've asked about). We keep enquiry emails only as long as needed for that purpose and any follow-up. Email is provided by Apple's iCloud Mail.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set any cookies, and it uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts and images are served from this site itself, not from third parties. Because no cookies are used, there's no cookie banner.

Links to YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and Kit take you to those services, and their own privacy policies and cookies apply there. Videos are linked, not embedded, so nothing from those services loads on this site.

Website hosting

The site is hosted by a web hosting provider that, like any web server, briefly processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and keep the service secure. We don't use this data to identify or profile you.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (for example by unsubscribing). To make a request, email hello@chriswyle.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
